Barista & Brew Basics is a fun, hands-on starter class designed to help you feel confident creating a range of popular drinks. You’ll practice making all the favourite espresso drinks, learn beer-pouring skills, and try your hand at simple mixed drinks and basic wine pouring.
With plenty of hands-on fun, this class makes learning café and bar essentials easy, engaging, and enjoyable—perfect for beginners or anyone keen to level up their drink-making skills.
On successful completion you will receive a Statement of Attendance **
**This course is non-accredited, however it is an excellent starting point, and may count toward recognition of your prior learning, if you choose to continue your training, in a relevant unit of competency.

Course Aim

Barista & Brew Basics is a fun, hands-on starter class designed to help you feel confident creating a range of popular drinks. You’ll practice making all the favourite espresso drinks, learn beer-pouring skills, and try your hand at simple mixed drinks and basic wine pouring.

Included in the course

This training gives you the necessary skills to prepare and serve espresso coffees using a commercial espresso machine, beer-pouring skills, and the know how to mix drinks including basic wine pouring. All resources will be provided.

Students must bring

  • Bring photo identification (licence or a passport)
  • Wear closed in shoes eg., joggers or other flat, covered shoe, and, comfortable clothing for working in and around a bar.
