- Assisting customers to drink within their limits
- Assessing affected customers and procedures for refusal of service
- Implementing responsible gambling practices
- Providing information and assistance to customers about gambling harm and harm minimisation
NB: Once you have successfully completed the face-to-face component of SITHGAM022 you will be required to complete an additional online Liquor & Gaming assessment before Liquor & Gaming will issue and interim certificate.
SITHFAB021 - Provide responsible service of alcohol
The course will include information about:
- Legal requirements related to venues, minors, and signage
- Assisting customers to drink within the appropriate limits
- How to assess alcohol affected customers and identify those whose service should be refused
- When to refuse service of alcohol
- Standard drinks
- Harm minimisation strategies and procedures
SITHGAM022 - Provide responsible gambling services
The course will include information about:
- Different types of gambling in NSW and Australia.
- How gambling problems develop, and the types of harm it leads to for the person, their family, and the community.
- Gaming machine laws you need to know about to ensure a safe, responsible gambling environment.
- A new approach to identify, assist, report and monitor patrons when you notice warning signs of problem gambling.
- Putting what you have learned into practice.
On successful completion you will receive an RCG Statement of Attainment for SITHGAM022 issued by CMNL Academy. You will then be required to complete an additional online Liquor & Gaming assessment containing 30 questions, with 100% pass rate (multiple attempts will be allowed). On successful completion Liquor & Gaming will issue and interim certificate. When you receive your interim certificate, you will need to take it to Service NSW with 100pts of I.D. You must do this within 90days to receive your RCG Competency card. Please note that RCG legislation is different for other states/territories. You must check with the relevant state or territory to see if your RCG competency card is recognised.
